A ten minute drive from the town of Watson Lake along the Robert Campbell Highway will bring you to the Laffing Loon Lodge, located on the shore of beautiful Watson Lake just below Mt. Maichen Ski Hill.

 

Private entrance, two units, each with private bath, wireless Internet, in room phone and satellite TV, as well as lake view. Meander though our beautiful garden and enjoy the three pools and waterfalls flowing from the natural spring we are blessed with. The sound of the running water will soothe your soul. If outdoor activities interest you, there are excellent hiking opportunities on the ski hill in the summer, and fishing on the lake. We have a pedal boat that guests can use to cruise along the shoreline. If you see a bonfire down by the lake shore please feel free to come down and visit. Watch for eagles - there are a number of breeding pairs each summer, and they like to sit in the trees above the water looking for fish. Spring time offers excellent birding as migratory songbirds and water birds are in abundance.  Of course we enjoy the sights and sounds of the numbers of breeding pairs of loons that we are privileged to have come to the lake for the summer.  Their calls are truly the "Call of Canada's North".

 

In winter, downhill skiing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing are always fun. After an exhilarating time outdoors, relax and unwind in the comfy common area sitting room, which also offers a lake view, or watch a movie in our theatre room.

 

If you wish, it is only 7km to town to walk through Watson Lake's Sign Post Forest or see a show at the Northern Lights Centre.

 

Breakfast consists of your choice continental or full meal. All breads and baked goods are made from scratch by Debra. Each day a delicious choice will be available to you on our "menu blackboard".

 

At night, snuggle into your bed made up with 100% cotton sheets and down comforter. We have one king and one queen to choose from. Both have a lake view from your bed. Little extras like handmade soaps from Essential Soap Bar and chocolates on your pillow make your stay special.

 

This is a smoke free home but smoking is permitted outside. No pets please. Not suitable for children.
